FAQ: Craft Lab

What is Craft Lab?
--a craft program specifically designed for teens.  Many of the projects require advanced skill (intricate origami, for instance) or have an element of danger (exacto knives!  chemicals!  hot wax!  sewing needles!) and need a more mature participant with good fine motor skills.  I also try to search out new techniques or ones that aren't used frequently and bring those to this class for a fresh approach to crafting.  These are "not yer mama's crafts!"

Where do you find all these great ideas?
Some ideas are from books, many are first discovered through Pinterest.

I loved Craft Lab this summer (or, "I wanted to try Craft Lab, but couldn't fit it into my summer schedule")!  Will you offer it again?
Yes!  Check the online fall calendar!  I'm hosting it one Saturday afternoon a month throughout the fall!

These look like fantastic projects and I'd like to try them myself, but I'm an adult.  Can I come to Craft Lab?
For now, I'd like to keep this class exclusively for teens.  However, if teen attendance wanes during the school year, I may open the class to also include adults.  Or I might offer "rush tickets" to the class, allowing adults to show up the day of the program and hope for an empty seat.  In the meantime, I've included links to most of the projects so you can try them at home yourself!
